Thank you very much!

Neat article! I passed on Disney stock early this year. Strong assets, but I have no confidence in management.

Thanks, Luis! I get where you’re coming from—Iger has made his share of unforced errors. I cover these in detail in the thesis, especially in part two. That said, he’s also achieved a great deal and has clear strengths as a leader and operator (which I’ve outlined, though they’re often overlooked). There’s plenty more I could say on the topic that didn’t make it into the report.

In short—while I have my reservations—I think he’s well-suited to steer the company through its current challenges and opportunities. The bigger question, though, is why he hasn’t moved on from Kathy Kennedy at Lucasfilm. The bigger managerial enigma, however, is why he hasn’t pulled the plug on Kathy Kennedy at Lucasfilm. Her praise for The Acolyte—claiming she was "blown away" by the first four episodes and doubling down in its defense—only underscores how disconnected she is from the fan base.

Absolutely, Iger has had some impressive home runs and he has plenty of strengths as a leader. But I think he clearly failed to set up the company for life after his retirement, and then completely undermined his successor.

I don't have concrete evidence, but I'm sure Iger considers Disney as his company, rather than seeing himself as a steward for shareholders. That ultimately keeps me away.
